Yesterday was the day of building the new entryway shelf and today is the day it gets decorated!
I stopped at Hobby Lobby on my way home from work with a list (on appropriate stationary for someone who just turned 25 two weeks ago) in hand.
Once I picked up these thing I headed home and painted over my drywall patches that I had to cover up from making the shelf too hight the first time. That only took me a few minutes and then I was headed outside to touch up my chalkboard.
I didn’t like the color of the wood, so I quick stained it with some of my shelf stain and frog tape and left it to dry.
While the paint and stain were drying I cut up what was the closet thing to wheat that hobby lobby had and put it in a cute little milk container I got for $3.50 with a 40% coupon. I then filled my largest mason jar with some Milkbones for Nova and the smaller jar with some festive M&M’s (FYI when I spelled M&M’s the first time I started to spell it Eminem… Sadly he probably wouldn’t fit in my mason jar.)
Once everything was dry I filled the shelf up with the goodies and wrote Happy Fall! on the chalk board.
I think it turned out rather festive and not overly orange (which is funny I should say considering my whole house was orange). Also I would love to say there are as many Milkbones and M&M’s in those jars right now as there is in the picture above, but I’d be lying.
